Excellent work, Harry. You have provided a very comprehensive “big picture.” I have a very minor quibble regarding “stare decisis.” The concept cannot be absolute. There have been Supreme Court decisions in the past (e.g., regarding slavery and civil rights, among others) that richly deserved being overturned. Roe was not remotely in that category, but the historical cases show us that the boundaries of stare decisis are not easy to identify.

Separate matter: my son lives in Yorktown. The next time I visit him, maybe we can talk. (This assumes that neither one of us will be in jail at that time.)

You are so right, Barry. The Dred Scott decision was one of the most egregious. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I plan to post weekly on Thursdays. Take care.

Harry, your commentary far surpasses anything I have read, to date, about the potential collapse of our democracy. We need to get the word out. THANK YOU.

Larry, thank you for taking the time to comment. I’ve been doing similar posts on behalf of the League of Women Voters and as I said to Dan, plan to write again and again and expose the menaces we face. Good to hear from you.
